Beautiful 6-year-old Basya (pronounced "Bahs'-ya") will be ready for her new home after she is spayed on January 13. Her name is Russian, and means "Daughter of God." She is a little shy, but is a very pleasant basset, happy and loves to run and play. Basya came from a situation in which she was kept outdoors and used as a breeder. She can be initially snippy when meeting new dogs, but she usually recovers and is OK with them.
Basya was surrendered with her buddy, Oliver, but the two dogs are not bonded and Basya would be fine as an only dog, or with a compatible doggie companion. She would probably be fine with kids. Having been accustomed to being an outdoor dog, Basya will need some help with her house training. She knows how to use a doggie door.
