Saydee is a snuggler and a real sweetheart. She is very affectionate and
loves to cuddle on the couch so she needs a home where she will have
couch priviledges. At 35 lbs she is a perfect "lap Basset" and while no
longer a puppy she definitely acts and looks like one. She has just
started playing and very importantly has finally discovered dog toys and
treats! She is very inquisitive and attentive and would do very well
with some obedience classes as she is very eager to please and quite
intelligent. She is house trained and not much of a barker, just an
occasional woof at a cat or dog on her daily walks. She would do best in a home with
another hound as she really enjoys the companionship of dogs. She
has become very attached to the three hounds in her foster home and loves to snuggle with
them, going so far as to sleep on top of them! Everyone that meets her
falls in love with her and she is quite the beautiful little lady. Saydee came to us from a commercial breeder where she received little to no socialization with humans, as such she still has some skittish moments and can be shy with strangers. For this reason she needs a quiet and calm environment with a patient owner who will take the time to gain her trust and love which she is bound to return tenfold. She had a rough start in life so we treat her like the little princess that she is, she deserves some spoiling. Saydee is a bit scared of small children so an all adult home or one with older respectful children would be best.
