Wilfred is a very sweet, quiet boy who has some anxiety issues.
He was an outdoor dog, and is now housebroken and slowly getting
comfortable coming in the house.
He has made some progress with his socialization,
but is still fearful of men, groups and strange noises.
He really loves walks, and is a completely different dog.
He walks beautifully on the leash and is so happy he’ll
let anybody pet him, but doesn’t want to come home.
He also likes his thick fur to be brushed.
At this point, the ideal home for Willfry would be a single woman
with the quiet patience and time to help him gain
the confidence he needs. Even after 5 months (up to Dec 2010) with his current foster home, he is only really comfortable with the lady of the house. Even then, she never sees his tail wag..., so sad! He obviously never learned that it was possible to show happiness with a tail wag! He is somewhat 'shut down' and a potential adopter needs to know that this could take years of dedicated support to get this dog 'to come around'.

In spite of his anxiety, he has shown a few
glimpses of the silly boy waiting to come out.
