Learn more about the Basset Hound.
Flash is one handsome, charming fellow! His markings, including a big black dot on each side and at the base of his wagging tail, are stunning. Flash is a sturdy, low to the ground houndie who stands on his hind legs when given a treat. He loves to fetch, chasing the ball or toy and bringing it back each time to the willing thrower.
If cuddling a lap dog is your thing, this fellow, who loves to settle into a warm lap, is made for you. He likes few things better than convincing one that they should sit and hold him. Flash gets along well with other dogs, loves his people, and is friendly with others. He displays no food aggression, is housebroken, knows how to use a dog door, and sleeps in his bed through the night. He seldom barks and when he does it is for a very short period of time. As of this writing, Flash has been out of the shelter and in his present foster home for 2 days. GGBR has no information on his history, thus it is not known how he gets along with children and cats. He shows some signs of being timid at times, startled by noises in the environment. That being said, one needs to keep in mind that he is in an environment totally new to him and he responds to most of the new experiences with a happy demeanor and a very waggy tail. Flash, who appears healthy, will be examined by a veterinarian soon and will receive immunizations and a heartworm test. " Flash...what a guy!
