Lily Basset is a young female that was picked up as a stray by animal control and held in Hayward Shelter until she was taken in by GGBR. Although we don’t know her exact age, Lily is quite young and estimated to be about one year old. Her personality is all puppy and she has even been known to pull out the entire roll of toilet paper from the wall!

Lily has a huge personality and a lot of energy to match. She loves to play with all sorts of dog toys and is constantly pulling out something from the toy basket with which to run around. Lily also loves her humans and wants to be close to them while they are in the house. She is very affectionate, always wants to be petted or cuddled, and also gives lots of kisses.

Lily came into GGBR completely housetrained. She had a minor accident on the night she came to her foster home but has been perfect since then.

She currently lives in a home with two basset hounds (aged 3 & 4) and a cat (age 10). While she gets along well with other dogs Lily does need to be monitored while she eats and when given treats because she sometimes she is very protective of it. Lily has also challenged her foster brother and sister for toys. Most of the time Lily gets along well with the other dogs, she just needs to be monitored around food. She loves to play with other dogs and especially loves to run and chase. Lily’s defensive behavior is directed only toward other dogs, never towards people. For the most part, she is a wonderful dog, she just needs some TLC and stability.

Lily will be available for adoption as soon as she is spayed.
