Mellow Maysie came to GGBR from a shelter, having been picked up as a  stray.  She has settled well into foster care and is a happy lovable houndie.  Her gentle nature and her beautiful looks will make her forever family very happy basset owners. Maysie loves to go on walks, her enthusiasm often causing her to pull ahead, although she is making progress on the 'gentle leader' leash. While she enjoys food and toys she is not at all protective of what is hers.  She loves being with her people and has a hard time with separation, although her foster parents are helping her work on that issue.  Maysie gets along well with other dogs and is very friendly with people she meets. She has shown interest in cats but has not yet met one face to face.  

Maysie loves to ride in the car and is an easy traveler. She had her first camping trip and enjoyed lying on the grass in the sun and enjoyed the lake.  

Maysie will shortly be spayed and is having some dental work done. She is current on her shots, tested negative for heartworm, is microchipped and is housetrained.  Maysie weighs 41 pounds. 

Maysie will be the perfect gal for someone who wants a classic basset hound.
