Otis is a jolly 11-year-old fellow, a big, beautiful, Basset boy. He is most happy when he has his dog friends and his people next to him. For his age, he is an active, healthy, curious boy who loves to play with other dogs, but mostly loves to be within sight of his human family. Otis has a strong Basset voice which we typically don't hear, but will ring loud and true when he misses the people in his life. Even when Otis is lonely he is not destructive, and we do come home to a quiet house - so we can't tell you how long his mournful sounds last.

Otis is a gentleman in our home. He has had some house training regression with all that he has been through. He sleeps on a dog bed near the bed, or in an open crate in our bedroom. Being a true hound, food is an important part of his life. He has an active nose and is not beyond following it to the kitchen counter.

Otis would be happiest in a home where his alone time is very limited. He would love a house with a yard, and a canine companion.
