7 year old Elmer, a neutered male basset hound, has recently returned to GGBR from his adopter who was no longer able to care for him. Elmer is a big boy who is friendly with other dogs, enjoys being with people of all ages, likes to spend time lying in the sunshine, and is bascially a happy fellow. He is in good health although he has difficulty with skin allergies and  at present is on monthly Apoquel treatments. He is not a quiet fellow, having a loud voice which he doesn't hesitate to use when he feels like doing so. Having lived as an only dog with a retired couple for the past several years, he is used to not having much time alone. In his current foster home, however, he seems to be quiet and content when left alone with a doggie companion. Elmer is big and strong and sometimes pulls hard on the leash when he is excited to go.
