Dan came to GGBR when his owners planned to move from the city to their mountain home. Dan has never liked snow and never particularly enjoyed traveling there, so the family knew that he would not be happy. Dan is 10 years old. He is a lovely boy, but needy, particularly at first. He needs a home with someone home most of the time as he can bark & cry when left alone, but as he has settled into his foster home, he has gotten better about that! Dan could be an only dog if someone was around him a lot, or he would do well with other dogs. He’s great with cats & kids too. Dan is not a jumper and does not get up on furniture, but he will hang out on a blanket, or a bed on the floor. He LOVES to go on walks! His foster family says that, when off leash, Dan usually sticks close by them & is very good at coming when he is called! Healthwise, Dan is up to date on vaccinations, is microchipped and is in generally good health, except for a heart murmur. He saw a cardiologist, who said that medication is not required at this time, but recommends that Dan get regular checkups to monitor his heart. Dan's previous owners mentioned that Dan gets car sick, but his foster family has taken him on short outings in the car with a window open, and he seemed to enjoy them.
