Daisy Mae is a basset/beagle mix who was dropped off as a stray at the Mendocino County Shelter in Ukiah in mid-October. She is estimated by a veterinarian to be about 18 months old, is spayed and up-to-date on veterinary care and vaccines. Daisy is a happy, healthy, active girl. Daisy Mae is currently in a foster home and is learning what it’s like to be in a stable, loving environment. When Daisy arrived at the foster home, she had no house training or leash training at all. She has come a very long way with consistency and positive training. At this time, Daisy is almost housebroken, sleeps in a crate during the night, and goes on long walks on a leash. Daisy responds well to training and learns fast! Smart and cute, what’s not to love? This is one sweet pup! Daisy loves to play…with toys, people and other dogs. She still behaves quite a bit like a puppy. Ideally, her forever family will have the experience and patience needed for a puppy. Daisy would do best in a home with people who are home much of the time and able to keep her active. She thrives on time and attention. Another dog in the home would be great! It is unknown how Daisy is with cats.A fenced yard is required. Daisy would likely wander, following her nose, if not in a fenced space. Daisy Mae would like nothing more than to play ball in a yard with her people, go for a long walk, then snuggle for hours. Oh, and spend some time chewing on a bully or something else meant to be chewed on! She’s super affectionate and loves to “socialize”. She’s also a good little car passenger, quiet and well-behaved.
