Learn more about the Basset Hound.
This sweet, gentle 8 year old female basset, Roma, was picked up as a stray, placed in the Stockton Animal shelter and went unclaimed by her owner. She was filthy, infested with fleas, had severely infected ears and dental disease. The ear canal openings and the insides of her outer ears were ulcerated and the ear drums could not be seen because of the bloody discharge present. Her dental disease was significant, including many loose teeth. The shelter released her to GGBR and her foster family was able to get immediate veterinary treatment for the health conditions that had caused her pain and discomfort. Her ears were treated and she received a dental, including the removal of 7 teeth.
