Yahoo! Gus has an adoption pending and is off to his new home! Gus is a neutered, 2 year old male basset hound who was obtained from a breeder in 12/22 by a woman who wanted to ensure that he would be well cared for and placed into a good home. She did not intend to adopt him but rather arrange for treatment of his cherry eye, have him neutered, and then find him a home. However, on her own, she has not been able find an adoptive home and increasingly Gus is finding it difficult being part of the pack in his current home. Gus and the owner's large male dog sometimes do not get along well, and Gus has developed some guarding when other dogs come near his food bowl. He has some fears of new dogs and people. A happy boy, Gus loves snuggling with his owner, running and playing, and like most bassets, is a very food motivated houndie. Other Pictures of Gus (West Sacramento) (click to see larger version):
