ADOPTION PENDING - LaVerne (Connie) is one of our recent kennel intake dogs, rescued from a commercial breeding kennel that was closing down.  She is quite bonded to her sister, Shirley (Pattie), and we are looking for a home where they can live together.

As you can see from the photo, Connie's leg is badly deformed.  This actually does not inhibit her activity level at all, and she runs and plays just like her sister.  The orthopedic surgeon does not want to do surgery until she has stopped growing, when she is 2 yrs old.  He can then straighten the leg and believes she will be as good as new!  Golden Gate is willing to pay for this surgery.  All we need is for you to love her and care for her, and be willing to work with us in having the surgery done.  If coping with the recuperation and rehabilitation would be hard for you, we can help find a temporary foster home following the surgery.

LaVerne's foster mom says she and her sister love the couch and cuddling at night.  They are housetrained, using a doggie door just fine.  They are sociable with people and dogs, and love to play, just like one year old hounds should!

Could you be the special adopter we are looking for to rescue LaVerne and her sister Shirley?
