Happy Outcome! Emma has been adopted. Here is what her new owners said to Agnes: "Let you know that Lil' Em will be from now on a part of our family. I took her up to my oldest daughters house and she got along with her puppy pit and also my youngest golden retriever dog, and they all had fun. She was totally wiped out when we got home. She is very sweet and well behaved. We just love her. Thank you for being so patient with us, and appreciate you and Greg and all you did to make the transition smoothly. Enjoy your little four legged friends and have a great day." Many thanks to Agnes and Greg Burda for going so far to rescue this happy little pit. She epitomizes the positive side of the pit bull breed and is a great ambassador for her breed. May Lil Em live happily ever after!! This is a courtesy post for Emma, a sweet, two-year-old girl with lots of energy and love. Emma is in Redwood City now, but she was found roaming the streets of Southern California. Unfortunately, a friend who picked her up couldn't keep her. It wasn't that she didn't want to keep her, but her other Pit refused to take to Emma. ... Some people's "kids" just won't share.
Emma was taken to a shelter in Downey. When she wasn't adopted out, a plea for help was sent out to the folks my friend knew. I read the email and knew we had to help. At that point, Emma was scheduled to be put down the following morning. Thru divine intervention, we were able to buy her a couple more weeks, but then it came time that we had to move her, since the shelter couldn't keep her any longer. I agreed to take her until we could find her a foster or forever home. So Emma made the trek north to our home in Redwood City. My husband and I would love keep her, but we already have a full house of rescued doggies to look after.
Emma is good with other dogs, cats, on the leash and is a definite people lover. We haven't seen her with small children, so we think it best to stay with children 10-years-old or older. We're willing to transport her to anywhere and anyone who will give her a warm, safe haven either as a foster or forever home.
Emma is housebroken, up to date with her vaccinations and has already been spayed. We have her medical records for anyone who's interested. She's about 45 pounds and is only about 2 years old. ... Two is a great age to adopt a dog. It means Emma's old enough to be past the puppy-crazies, but young enough to enjoy for a good, long time.
