Learn more about the Basset Hound. This little shy girl would love another dog for company, but even better a nice, calm household to enjoy!
Still shy, but a sweet and happy happy girl. She plays, she loves her
crate. She loves walks, she barks to defend and alert. She is happy
outside most of the day. She leaves the cats and birds alone. She is so
gentle. She never pulls on the leash. Say 'no' and she freezes. Very
responsive. Smart. Will make a great pet.
Sunshine has been in her foster home for six months and they are at last beginning to see the real Sunshine. She needs a very patient forever home, who will support her transition from her foster home and understand that gaining Sunshine's trust will be two steps forward, one step back for quite a while. Sunshine will reward you with devotion.... She was originally used for breeding at a commercial kennel in Red Bluff and has probably had at least a couple of litters of pups. Other than the times she was giving birth, she lived with a lot of other dogs in kennel runs. The lack of socialization and playtime has made her the shy and timid girl she is today... but patience and a loving family will soon have her enjoying life the way she was meant to!
