Emma was picked up as a stray by Kern County Animal Control.  After her hold time and nobody came to claim her she was taken into rescue.  Emma was entered into the Basset Hound Club of Southern California Field Trials in the ilp/pal class.  Emma took best overall in her class and was qualified to run in Absolute.  When Emma was set on the course, she showed everybody what a basset was bred for and followed the scent, flushed her own rabbit and tracked it too.  When all was said and done, little Emma took Absolute.  The best of the best.  Emma is ready for her forever home.  She would love to be in a home where she could indulge in her two favorite past times, snuggling with her humans and field trials. Emma has had her power nap and has vowed to catch that bunny at the next field trials in Feburary. Good with Dogs, Not Good with Cats, Good with Kids Emma would be best suited to a home that will use her for field trial since she has such a knack for it.
