Cooper is a super easy going, chill little dude. He likes to be loved
on and cuddle with whoever wants to show him affection. Even being five
years old, he still finds time to get a nice little jolt of energy and
run around the house with a favorite toy or bone. Cooper has a huge
heart and will always make you feel loved and make you smile. Speaking
of smiling, Cooper himself sheds a grin every time you come home from
work, or even in the morning when he wakes up to you! He is such an easy
dog to manage and loves being petted, brushed, bathed, and even having
his ears cleaned and nails clipped. Like all basset hounds he follows
his nose when not on a leash and can wander away from you if you don't
keep an eye on him. The only assistance Cooper requires is minimal
exercises, I.E. short walks and help onto couches, beds, and cars due to
a severe thoracic limb angular deformity in his left front leg. He is
such a great little champ about his bum leg that he still tries to jump
on everything and climb stairs without any assistance. Cooper could be a
great addition to your home!  Cooper will do great in a home with  other dogs but needs to be fed separately from them. He is also perfectly happy to be an only dog with an owner who is home a lot to lavish him with love and attention.
