Two year old female basset hound, Sugar, was picked up by animal control as a stray.She apparently had been hit by a car causing her right rear leg to be broken in two places. Following Sugar being taken to a veterinary hospital for emergency treatment, the owner was located and made aware of the extent of her injuries and the estimated cost for surgery. The owner surrendered her to the hospital staff who immediately contacted GGBR and foster placement was arranged.
Sugar is an adorable, sweet tempered basset who loves attention from people. As for her medical condition, she underwent major surgery on her hind leg to repair the breaks in her leg bones. The surgery took place on Feb 8. She is an active and busy girl, who will soon be cleared and ready for adoption.
